EMBA – Expanding Minority Business Access
EMBA – Expanding Minority Business Access – is a partnership between the Women’s Business Development Center and ChicagoMSDC. The EMBA Partnership will equip Business Service Organizations (BSOs) within the Chicago ecosystem and minority business owners with the resources and tools they need to consider higher-margin opportunities through private/public sector contracting/procurement opportunities.
EMBA has a three-part focus; advancing and deepening business development curriculum, expanding markets/mentorship networks, and access to capital.
WBDC and ChicagoMSDC will follow a targeted approach to deep dive into specialized topics that are critical to understand and master in order to pursue private/public contracting/procurement opportunities. In addition to targeted trainings on these topics, both organizations will deliver one-on-one strategic business and financial coaching to further expand education on these vital topics.
The Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC) is a 501(c)(3) nationally recognized leader in the field of women’s economic development. The organization was founded in 1986 to provide programs and services to support and accelerate women’s business ownership and strengthen the impact of women on the economy by creating jobs, fueling economic growth, and building strong communities.
