MBDA Business Centers Recognized for Outstanding Performance


ChicagoMSDC extends a big congratulations to MBDA Business Center Chicago and the St. Louis MBDA Business Center, recipients of the 2019 MBDA Century Club Award!

On Tuesday, June 18, the US Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) held its National Stakeholder Summit in Detroit, Michigan.

Through federal grant funding, Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council is the proud operator of the MBDA Business Center Chicago and St. Louis MBDA Business Center.

MBDA Business Centers help minority business owners create relationships with corporations and government agencies. They develop alliances with local, state, and federal government agencies, major corporations, banks, financial resources and the minority business community to create larger, more strategic minority entrepreneurs.

As members of the national MBDA network, each center is evaluated on performance and measured success metrics that quantify and qualify the center’s influence on awarded contracts for minority businesses, job creation/retention, capital funding, advocacy and clients served.

At this year's National Stakeholder Summit, the Chicago and St. Louis centers were regarded as OUTSTANDING performers! Both centers scored well above the 100-point threshold for services beginning April 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019. With scores of 124.5 for Chicago and 116.6 for St. Louis both cities were well represented for exceeding the high standards set by the national office.
